"The Trustees of the Eskdaleside cum Ugglebarnby Eduational Foundation invite applications from persons under 25 years of age for grants for educational purposes either academic or artisan.

All applicants must be resident in the parish of Eskdaleside cum Ugglebarnby or have attended the Sleights School for at least two year.

Applications should be made in writing before 17th September to The Trustees, 12 Birch Avenue, Sleights.

This organisation is part of the Parochial Church Council and is seen as an Unadopted Charity as there is not enough money to register as a charity.  It originated from donations to the church to help poor people of the parish and now is used to give small donations to people going to college or university to further their eduction"
