News  »  Installation of Picnic Table at the Sleights Sportsfield

Eskdaleside cum Ugglebarnby Parish Council has recently installed a picnic table on the Sleights Sportsfield (adjacent the pavilion).  This was following the creation of a councillor working group to look at what the parish council could do to enhance community space within the village of Sleights.  Following discussions at a parish council meeting it was decided to contact the Sleights Sportsfield Trustees to see if they would be happy for the parish council to install and maintain a picnic table, which would be for the benefit of the community and those using this area.  The cost of the picnic table was £555.00, with additional monies allotted to install. The funding for the project has come from Model Agreement monies received from Scarborough Borough Council, which can be used by the parish council to enhance playing fields and open spaces within the parish.  It is hoped that residents and visitors to the Sportsfield enjoy the use of this additional amenity throughout the summer and even during winter!
