"Consultation on: Dog Control Public Space Protection Order Review
Closing Date: 28th August 2020
The Borough Council’s Dog Warden Service responds to complaints and incidents primarily involving stray dogs. We also undertake enforcement of our public space protection order which details how and where dogs can be exercised.
Our Public Space Protection Order covering how or where people can walk their dog lasts for three years, the restrictions need to be reviewed before they can be extended. We try and strike a balance between dog owners and people who prefer more strict limits on the exercising of dogs. To try and achieve this consensus we consult periodically on our restrictions, we fully recognise the importance of dog ownership and try to provide plenty of areas for people to exercise their dogs on and off the lead. We do also understand that some people want to enjoy areas free from the presence of dogs.
By taking part in this survey you can help shape our restrictions for the next three years.
We are seeking the views of our residents, partners and stakeholders on the review of the Dog Control Public Space Protection Order. If you have any comments or suggestions on the order, please complete the questionnaire by clicking here https://www.scarborough.gov.uk/dog-control-public-space-protection-order-review by 28th August 2020.
