"The draft version of the strategic framework for preventing and tackling loneliness in North Yorkshire is now open for consultation. The framework has been developed as part of The Loneliness Campaign, a project funded through the National Lottery Community Fund, North Yorkshire County Council and Defra to help support and inspire more local action to ‘turbo charge’ the county’s response to tackling loneliness.

The Loneliness Campaign (TLC) involves a steering group including individuals from a wide range of organisations involved in supporting people at risk of loneliness, including local authorities, health professionals, the police, charities, voluntary organisations and community groups. To develop the strategy, we have engaged with projects and individuals across North Yorkshire to collect personal stories and gather evidence of work being undertaken to tackle loneliness in the County.

The strategy framework references other relevant research and strategies, and draws from the report, Promising Approaches to Reducing Loneliness in Later Life, produced by Age UK and the Campaign to End Loneliness in 2015. Aligning with this work, the TLC strategic framework outlines five strategic ambitions."

Consultation Ends 1 December 2019
